ATEST National Call: FY14 Funding for Anti-Trafficking Programs

ATEST held a national call today, urging participants from around the country to review ATEST’s federal appropriations requests and the federal funding priorities in the next fiscal year. ATEST invited interested groups to sign on to ATEST’s appropriations request letters to five subcommittees and to the Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. View the appropriations letters here.

On the call, ATEST coalition partners also:

  1. Provided the latest update on federal appropriations requests;
  2. Identified key priorities for the appropriations requests in FY14;
  3. Discussed future action items in relation to the timing and process of these requests; and
  4. Recommended that participants review the ATEST Guide to Anti-Slavery Funding that provides concrete recommendations from ATEST to Congress on how to leverage federal funding for law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute traffickers, while providing much needed services for victims to rebuild their lives.
