ATEST Calls for the Immediate Release of Kah Walla

Melysa Sperber, Director of the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST), issued the following statement in response to the reported arrest of Kah Walla, President of the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP). Ms. Walla was arrested in Cameroon today while holding a meeting on political transition in the country.

“The Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST) urges the Cameroonian Government to immediately release Kah Walla, President of the Cameroon People’s Party (CPP). We also urge the U.S. Government to help secure Ms. Walla’s quick release. Ms. Walla is a brilliant human rights leader and advocate for a more just world who has worked with our coalition numerous times, helping us to better fight human trafficking. This brave defender of rights should immediately be freed.”

To support Kah Walla, please call for the release of Kah and other members of the Cameroonian Peoples Party (CPP). On social media, use the hashtag #FreeKahWalla. Include @PR_ Paul_Biya and @prc_cellcom to reach the Cameroonian president.
